My Leibster Award award to recognise us bloggers working hard but just starting out and still with a small following. This award is designed to help us link up with like minded bloggers and pass the love on!

I was nominated by lovely Karis over at Little Dorothy Makes.

The rules are as follows…

Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog;
Answer their questions in a blog post;
Nominate at least 10 blogs with 400 followers of less for the Liebster Award;
Ask some questions of your own;
Let your nominees know you nominated them!

The questions;

What is the meaning behind the name of your blog?

Before becoming Ted’s Mummy, I worked with children and families in a variety of different roles, most recently advising parents about sleep, routines and general parenting. I named me blog ‘All the things I used to know’ because I knew people would be watching me and a few would take great pleasure seeing me not follow my own advice! As we all know, everything is reasonably straightforward if you have had 8 hours or more sleep, can be objective and the little monkey in question isn’t yours!!

Who are your role models?

No specific high profile people, just generally people who are able to take everything in their stride, I have a couple of friends who I watch juggle no end of different balls but always have smiles on their faces and look at things positively. This isn’t always my default response but I try everyday to remind myself how lucky I am (because I really am) and remain positive at time when things are tricky.

What is your absolute favourite meal?

Complete cop out but I couldn’t possibly choose…I am far too indecisive! Some days I crave a massive steak, other times seafood especially Crayfish – generally quite healthy foods but normally with a cheeky side of chips and a lovely glass of Savvy B!

What is your greatest moment of joy so far in your life?

Cheesy but true…aside from Ted’s arrival it was the day my husband told me he loved me for the first time, we were sat on a beach on Koh Lipe, a tiny Thai island – we had arrived that morning on a boat from Malaysia and had not a care in the world other than being together, drinking Chang and laughing.

If you were in charge of the whole world, what would you outlaw?

Work on a sunny Friday – we all know these should be spent in a pub garden.

Judgemental People – lets all just show a little love.

Crocs – surely this doesn’t need explaining?!

Do you have any regrets or are you a contented soul?

I guess there are a few but I try not to dwell on the past, everything that has happened has meant I’ve arrived where I am today and I wouldn’t change that for the world.

What 3 adjectives would your close friends and family use to describe you?

Outspoken, lively and more recently, disheveled!!

What is your dream occupation?

I have no idea! I wish I’d worked harder when I was younger and would have loved to have had a job in the media…maybe one day, for now I just want to be at home with my family as much as possible.

What blog post are you most proud of and why?

I don’t think I have a specific one yet…I loved my recap of the first year post on Sassy Bloom’s site as it was great to look at how far we’ve come but equally I’m proud of some of my earlier, honest pieces about how tough certain areas were/are.

What will your next post be about?

I’m not quite sure yet (well, after this one!) Normally inspiration arrives in the shape of a picture or experience and I then see where that takes me, so watch this space!!

So, now I take charge!! My nominees are…

Life with Baby Kicks

Modern Mama

Life with Boys

Mud cakes and Wine

The Mamahood

OMG It’s a Girl

Mummy on my Mind

37 Weeks to Love

And, the questions I’m setting you are…

– What inspired you to start writing?

– Ultimate dinner party, who are your 5 guests and why?

– What has been your favourite age so far and why?

– What are you scared of?

– Would you rather have hands for feet or feet for hands?

– What are your goals this year?

– If you could book a plane ticket anywhere, where would you go?

– What is your favourite memory?

– What is your worst character trait?

– And your best?

I look forward to reading your answers! 🙂

  1. laughing about the crocs… my 2 year old has a pair of pink crocs with purple fuzzy inside-perfect for winter. She will ONLY wear these, or her hello kitty rain boots. when she puts either of them on, she literally fist pumps. 🙂
